Why Have Aliens Never Visited Earth? Scientists Have A Disturbing Answer

Why don’t aliens come here already? Two scientists have spent years studying the mystery and have come up with a scary possible answer: advanced civilizations will either stop growing or die out before they can. One new idea is that people who live in space might run out of ways to get energy if they don’t keep coming up with new ideas. After then, everything will start to go awry. Scientists say that civilization can only spread to other stars if it chooses stability over “unstoppable growth.”

This argument, published in the Royal Society Open Science journal on May 4, does not solve the Fermi Paradox. Since Nobel Prize winner Enrico Fermi came up with the name “Fermi Paradox,” it has become a memorable way to talk about the difference between the size and age of the universe, which would suggest that intelligent life exists, and the lack of evidence to support this claim. No one else is close by. What Fermi said made a lot of sense.

People Who Worked On The Most Recent Study Think They Know The Answer.

Astrobiologists Michael Wong of the Carnegie Institution for Science and Stuart Bartlett of the California Institute of Technology wrote in their study, “Civilizations either collapse from burnout or refocus on homeostasis, a state where cosmic expansion is no longer a goal, making them hard to find from afar.” “The fact that there don’t seem to be any civilizations that span the whole galaxy fits with either homeostatic awakening or the collapse of civilizations.”

The two men came up with their idea after studying how cities grow “superlinearly.” Based on what they learned, a city gets bigger and uses more energy exponentially as its population grows. This means that cities will always reach “crisis moments” or “singularities” when their growth stops, followed by a sudden collapse that could end civilization.

“We hypothesize that once a planetary civilization reaches a state that can be described as one virtually connected global city,” the researchers wrote, “it will face an ‘asymptotic burnout,’ an ultimate crisis in which the time scale of innovation becomes shorter than the time scale of the singularity interval.”

Academics say that a “wildly unsustainable” way to spread energy would be the fastest way for people to find these nearly extinct civilizations. The researchers said that many of the first signs of intelligent life from other planets might not have been very smart. If a civilization has a “homeostatic awakening,” it might be able to keep going. To do this, they would have to put social well-being, equitable development, and harmony with the environment ahead of uncontrolled progress across the stars, which academics currently support. They might not stop space travel altogether, but they won’t grow big enough to get to Earth.

Why Have Aliens Never Visited Earth

A Few “Mini-Awakenings” Have Helped People Worldwide Find Solutions To Problems.

For example, nuclear weapons dropped from 70,000 to less than 14,000. In 1982, it became illegal to hunt whales and use chlorinated hydrocarbons in the industry everywhere. Based on what they knew about life on Earth, they came up with their idea. It is meant to “stimulate discussion, thinking, and further study,” but experts warn that it is still just a theory.

People and scientists agree that they are one reason why people haven’t made direct contact with aliens. Interstellar travel is challenging, and aliens might be coming to Earth without anyone noticing. Before the universe was old enough to talk, people or aliens could have also come to Earth. Another theory, published on April 4 in The Astrophysics Journal, says that because the universe is so big, it could take up to 400,000 years for a signal from one intelligent species to reach another. Compared to how long people have been able to look up at the sky, this is a long time.
