The village of Markleeville was battered by hail and rain on Wednesday, which forced mud, floodwater, and debris from the Tamarack and Slink burn scars into the roads. A resident captured this on film.
Drivers immediately ran the risk of being washed away if they got caught in the flash flood. Apparently, cars were swept into embankments. The debris flow along Hot Springs Road turned the roadway into an impassable river.
While this was going on, Bravo made an effort to remain upbeat but felt overwhelmed by the thought of future storms and flames.
“Okay, so this is referred to be a climate emergency. Get it? Get it? You got it, Biden? Get it? Congress, be quiet; this is what has to be resolved. Okay, we need mitigation “She spoke.
Although Bravo claimed to have received her sand bags only hours after the storm, it was already too late for them to be of any use.
With the region blanketed in mud, residents of the Town of Markleeville said they anticipate days, if not weeks, of cleanup efforts and road closures.
